ETIQUETTE and DRESS CODE REQUIREMENTS
Students need to arrive on time for class, in the proper attire, with hair secured. EPAC’s dress code is designed to encourage unity, simplicity and discipline among our students. Students not meeting the required dress code will be asked to observe class. Please keep hallway noise to a minimum. No running or shouting in the hallways is allowed. Please respect that students are being instructed in the studios. EPAC has a Student Policy Handbook in our lobby, but it can also be found at the bottom of the "School Year Program" page.
DRESS CODE
Shoes: We recommend the canvas soft ballet shoes by Sansha or one of the makers of the leather ballet shoes (Danskin, Capezio, Bloch, etc.) Please no Isotoner slip-ons for ballet shoes. Please sew on all shoe elastics and tuck in drawstrings.
Tights: Tights are required to be footed and worn inside the shoe. Girls tights are to be worn underneath the leotard. Leotards: Each class wears a specific color of leotard. Read below for details. No halter style leotards.
Hair: Hair for girls must be pulled back off of the face and neck into a neat bun. If hair is too short to be pulled back into a bun, please wear a headband to keep the hair from falling on the face. There are no exceptions to this hair requirement.
Accessories: Please do not wear watches, jewelry (small post earrings are fine), or rubber bands on your wrist. No skirts or warm-ups are allowed to be worn during class. Warm-ups are good for before and after class.
PRE-BALLET and KINDERGARTEN
Girls - Basic pink leotard, pink tights, pink canvas or leather ballet shoes
Boys - White t-shirt, black shorts or leggings, black ballet shoes.
For Pre Ballet and Kinder classes : on the last day of the month that your class meets you may wear any color of leotard that you would like.
BALLET 1 and 2
Girls - Basic pink leotard, pink tights, pink canvas or leather ballet shoes
Boys - White t-shirt, black shorts or leggings, black ballet shoes
For Ballet 1 & 2 classes: on the last day of the month that your class meets you may wear any color of leotard that you would like.
BALLET 3 to PROFESSIONAL DIVISION
Men: White leotard or fitted t-shirt, black tights, black ballet shoes
Ladies:
Ballet 3: Eurotard Light Blue leotard, pink tights, pink canvas or leather ballet shoes
Ballet 4/5: Eurotard Lilac leotard, pink tights, pink canvas or leather ballet shoes
Ballet 6: Eurotard Burgundy leotard, pink tights, pink canvas or leather ballet shoes
Ballet 6B: Eurotard Navy leotard, pink tights, pink canvas or leather ballet shoes
Ballet 7: Black Leotard, pink tights, pink canvas or leather ballet shoes
Ballet 8 & Professional Division: Black Leotard and pink tights
If female dancers choose to wear undergarments under their leotard it needs to be a nude undergarment.
NO SPORTS BRAS PLEASE!
Character Class:
Ladies - Leotard, pink tights, black 1 1/2" character shoes, Sansha Constanza character skirt
Gentlemen - Fitted white t-shirt or leotard, black tights and black character shoes.
Tap Classes: Dance attire of your choice. Please no jeans or very baggy clothes!
